Jim Christiansen
Jim Christiansen is a distinguished leader in environmental engineering and management, currently serving as CEO, ES Program Director, and Olympia Office Manager at Integrity Environmental Solutions. With a career beginning in 1992 as a U.S. Army Officer specializing in logistics and engineering, Jim expanded his expertise as a Superfund Remedial Project Manager (RPM) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) starting in 1998. At the EPA, among other awards, he earned the U.S. EPA Superfund National RPM of the Year Award in 2005 for his work on the investigation and cleanup for the Libby Asbestos Superfund Site.
In 2007, Jim transitioned to entrepreneurship, performing environmental consulting direct to clients, where he honed his ideas on finding a workable balance between industry needs and environmental compliance. His subsequent role as an Environmental Protection Manager at Waste Management (WM) deepened his knowledge of solid waste and landfill management and fueled his appreciation for the complexity of landfills and the critical role they play.
Jim joined Integrity Environmental Solutions in 2017, drawn by the company’s focus on problem solving and client needs. His background working as a government regulator, for private industry, and now as a consultant gives him a unique insight into the needs of each.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from the University of Miami and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
Known for his calming influence and strategic vision, Jim excels in guiding his team and developing company operations. Outside of work he enjoys hiking, biking, climbing, and has a little-known passion for electronic dance music (EDM) and dancing. Jim’s personal life includes his spouse Peggy, who serves alongside Jim as the Marketing Director at Integrity, and their adult children, including one pursuing a career in environmental engineering.
