Nicholas Guarriello, P.E.

Nicholas Guarriello serves as Integrity’s Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President, and Richmond, Virginia Office Manager. His unique path to become a leader in landfill gas and solid waste solutions has informed his success and allowed him to bring a fresh perspective to his role.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from Florida State University in 2007, Nicholas began an internship with a weather station – but he soon realized it wasn’t his calling. Seeking guidance, Nicholas spoke with a professor at the University of Central Florida who invited Nicholas to pursue a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and offered him a scholarship. Nicholas accepted the offer, and his research on modeling odors from landfills opened the door for Nicholas to the solid waste sector.

After being recruited by a colleague from his master’s program, Nicholas began his professional journey as an SCS engineer from 2009 to 2017. He was later invited to help launch the Richmond office for Carlson Environmental Consultants, now Integrity, where he has helped establish the office as a resource in the region and grow its size and reputation.

Nicholas is also a dedicated member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and serves as the secretary of its Board.

Nicholas most appreciates the collaborative environment of Integrity. Unlike traditional firms with siloed divisions, Integrity fosters a team-oriented culture where responsiveness and leadership are prioritized, allowing for tailored solutions that meet clients’ unique needs.

Outside of work, Nicholas is an avid runner, having qualified for the Boston Marathon with a personal best of 2:57. He enjoys active pursuits like marathons and obstacle course races, alongside recreational sports such as flag football and kickball. Nicholas is also known for his sweet tooth, famously winning $200 for completing a giant dessert in one sitting.

Nicholas shares his life with his wife, Carolyn, and their two dogs, Doppler and Monie. Inspired by his father, an engineer and former CEO, he values the importance of client relationships and effective communication in his career.
